Autumn family portrait photoshoot

Welcome to October! While September is often fab, October is often not the friendliest or most welcome of months. We often have an Indian Summer and all the excitement of a new season, back to school, etc. And then, it's October and the idea that Winter is on its way creeps into our psyches. Next, it starts to dawn on us that we won't have lovely warm outside temperatures for many months. It can even feel a bit depressing. But the great compensation is the absolutely fabulous Autumn scenery. The incredible leaves! The vibrant colours! And, from a photographer's perspective, amazing autumn light. For me, it's inspiring. I can't wait to get outside and shoot. The fact that October also contains the half term school holidays are a perfect opportunity to get the family together for a portrait shoot.

The children play in the leaves and feel energised and spontaneous, everyone is cosy and not yet shivering in their fine wool and cashmere. There's a bit of a playful air with my Autumn shoots.
