Fabulous Family Photoshoot on Location

Portrait Photography London - Family Location photoshoot

Recently I had the huge pleasure of conducting a family photoshoot in Hampshire with this super family. This took place at their beautiful home. And, since weather permitted, we moved between the gorgeous garden and the equally lovely interior of the house to capture four generations of the family. As that the head of the family is a musician, we spent time in his studio creating portraits with his instruments. Which resulted in a charming set of images of the family doing what they love most. It’s a theme I always come back to. And it is why having a family photoshoot on location is hugely satisfying and results in the finest images.

The subjects were varied in age and included grandparents, parents, children and grandchildren. First we captured portraits in a variety of locations in the house and garden. Next we headed to the nearby beach for the final shots.

Shooting outside has its challenges, but I prefer it and I love to incorporate nature as a backdrop in my work (Click here for a recent blog on why…) Especially as there is the weather to consider and the light, neither of which were wholly cooperating on the day of our shoot. In addition, there’s the excitement (or over excitement) of the young ones. But it all came together beautifully on the day. As I am sure you will agree from the photos below.

Firstly, the photographer have the set up for teh shot right. It might be that they need to move some furniture, set up a backdrop, reposition items which might be in the way, etc.

Next the phographer must get the client to relax. Only when they are feeling confident and comfortable in their skin will it be possible to get a great executive headshot.
