Sometimes it does feel like everything has gone to hell recently with worrying events both domestically and abroad. In general, it doesn’t seem like we live in a very hopeful time. This sentiment is shared by many of my friends and family and across social media.

On the positive side, what upsetting times do is nudge us to try to remember what is important in life. To focus on the little celebrations and holidays. Whenever possible, to reflect on what is real and positive. And nothing is more certain than a mother’s love.
