Something Magical is Happening

October 22, 2018 | PERSONAL WORK, PORTRAITS

AUTUMN IN ALL ITS SPLENDOUR IS THE MOST MAGICAL TIME FOR PORTRAIT PHOTOGRAPHY

For those that know me well they would be surprised to find me in Richmond Park before sunrise but there is something magical happening all around us at moment, and I find it difficult to stay in bed and miss a beautiful autumnal sunrise on a sunny day. Witnessing the first rays of sunlight as it hits the trees and sparks a blaze of rusty orange reds, dark vibrant greens and ochre browns followed by the sun popping out gradually in a sunburst over the trees in truly spectacular scene and worth getting out of bed for!

Nature plays an important and prominent part in my portrait photography. I love to capture my sitter(s) outside in a local park or landscape and incorporate leaves, blossom as a colourful, textured backdrop to my portraits. Nature is not only a sensational compliment to portrait photography but to me represents abundance, possibility, transformation, beauty and opportunity.

Rolo and I have enjoyed a wonderful start to the week as I hope you all have too. Long may this gorgeous autumnal weather stay with us as it is the most perfect backdrop for portrait photography whether for an individual or couple or family portrait photoshoot.

One of the things I enjoy most in life is walking the dog in nature with my camera ready at hand to capture magical moments.
