woman in pink trouser suit feeling confident for her personal branding photoshoot

Imagine feeling confident for your personal branding photoshoot.

Many people feel uncomfortable having their portrait taken. They know that they need to get great images to support their personal branding efforts but are reluctant to book the photoshoot because they dread the experience. But what would it feel like to wake up on the day of your personal branding photoshoot feeling confident and excited about the experience?

Imagine that this is reality. You’ve slept well, knowing that you have prepared everything for your photoshoot, with the help of your professional branding photographer.

You have clarity on your brand and its values. And you have collaborated with your photographer on how you will present them. You have taken time to choose your shoot location/s to be both aesthetically pleasing and resonant with your brand personality. You’ve thought about any props or product that you wish to include in your images. With the help of your photographer (and perhaps the stylist they recommended) you have selected outfits which flatter, show your personality and are helping you to put your best foot forward. And of course, you’ve followed the photographer’s guidelines on shoot preparation and have taken care of yourself leading up to the shoot, ensuring that you feel and look your best. At your recent pre-shoot consultation, the shoot was discussed in full and all decisions finalised. You are ready.

Feeling confident for your PERsonal Branding photoshoot

You start the shoot day with the professional makeup artist you’ve booked. They will work with you to achieve the looks you discussed in the preceding weeks. And after the makeup artist works their magic, you are shoot ready and looking your best. When you arrive at your first shoot location, your photographer is .ready to greet you. They’ve undertaken a quick recce of the area and decided where to place you, explored the angles for the best shots and considered the light. They are warm, confident and upbeat and immediately start putting you at your ease and making you feel comfortable.

They might do a breathing exercise and just spend a moment talking with you without taking photos just to help you feel more relaxed and natural. If appropriate, they might play a bit of music that you like. You might feel a little nervous but you know that you’ve prepared well, have good chemistry with your photographer, have chosen great outfits and are looking your best.

The photographer starts to shoot , guiding you gently and you start to feel less self conscious. You relax and start to smile naturally and even, start to have fun!

As the session progresses, your photographer’s encouragement and positive feedback further boost your confidence. Their support helps you to relax, let go of any self-doubt, and fully embrace the experience.

By the end of your shoot, you feel fantastic and maybe a bit exhilarated. You know that the photographs will reflect the best version of you and your personal brand. And what’s more, it was a great experience. You look forward to receiving the portraits and choosing the best ones for your website and social media.
